About Lisa

I have practiced counseling for almost thirty years. I am trained and have a vast knowledge in Psychoanalysis, such as Relational Therapy, and Psychotherapy utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral and more. I work with different populations that experience symptoms from ADHD, PTSD, OCD, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, and Chemical addiction, as well as Premarital, Marriage, Divorce Counseling, and Grief/Loss.

I have two master’s degrees, a Master of Arts from Texas Tech University and a Masters in Pastoral Counseling from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. As a chemical dependency specialist, I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor recognized through the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals and certified through the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium. I am a Certified EMDR therapist through the EMDRIA International Association, as well as hold a Secondary Teachers Certification in the State of Texas.

In addition to my credentials, I have extensive clinical and teaching experience with a broad range of development for inpatient, outpatient, and intensive long-term treatment programs for clients with addiction and mental health issues. I have experience as an adjunct professor for graduate students and supervise intern/practicum students from different universities. As the owner of Austin Wellness, PLLC, I work with individuals, couples/families and groups utilizing both theological and psychological themes. I also provide unique training, workshops, seminars, and retreats for groups, churches, and businesses, which are challenging, inspirational, and uplifting.

I am highly committed to staying abreast of current information and education to improve my skill level. I seek a collaborative process with clients in order to assist in drawing upon their own spiritual resources and to approach treatment with clinical disciplines in order to meet the determined goals.
