Clinical and Therapeutic Orientation

Every person has an underlying set of beliefs governing their decision and motivations. As a prospective client, it is important to understand the clinical approach of Austin Wellness, PLLC to make sure we are a good match for your situation.

Each client has their own presenting issues whether you need help moving forward and want to be free of past disturbing life experiences, repair relationship conflicts, or seek a healthier way of being. Austin Wellness, PLLC will work to understand what you are seeking or experiencing. We will discuss different therapeutic tools or approaches that have been shown to help whether these issues are recent or long term.

The initial therapeutic assessment for each client will be to assess the needs and history and to sort through feelings and challenges, in a safe and supportive environment. Each session offers awareness for a client to learn skills to navigate life more effectively and to create meaningful change in order to obtain the quality of life they want.

For many situations, the therapeutic tools and approaches through Austin Wellness, PLLC, come from an integrative theory, offering many areas of theoretical interests. This style of orientation offers many converging theories, philosophies, and still more diverse experiences from which to draw for any given problem; and move between them freely. Such therapeutic counseling approaches include a psychodynamic approach, Relational Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioral. Together, these approaches foster wellness in mind, body, spirit, and community…by exploring new ways of being.
